Abstract

Magelang City is a city located in Central Java Province. Magelang City, Central Java, has several tourism potentials, one of which is Mount Tidar. Mount Tidar is a protected forest area and tourism forest whose existence is important to meet the needs of urban green open space. Not just an ordinary tourist area, Mount Tidar is known as a religious tourist spot. Since January 2020, the Mount Tidar area has officially changed its status from an urban forest to a Botanical Garden. This change in status will certainly have an impact on the preservation of nature, the surrounding environment and other sectors. The development of the Mount Tidar area needs to be arranged appropriately so that it can run and develop properly according to its new function as a Botanical Garden. and building facades that refer to the principles of sustainable architecture. By using a sustainable architectural approach in the planning and design of the Gunung Tidar Botanical Garden area, it is hoped that the function of the Botanical Gardens will not only be a tourist spot and a plant conservation center. But also as a medium to make people aware of the importance of preserving nature and the environment.
