Abstract
Researchers want to know the distribution of slum settlements in order to make it easier for readers to understand the information on the location of slum settlements in the Semanggi area and to find out the factors that affect the distribution of slum settlements. Conducting a research entitled "ANALYSIS OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF SLUM AREAS IN SEMANGGI KAWASAN, SURAKARTA CITY". The development of settlements in urban areas in urban areas will continue to increase as the population increases, while the availability of strategic land for settlements is relatively constant. Therefore, residents in the city take advantage of the limited land to be used as a place to live without paying attention to the quality of the neighborhood. The directionless development of the city and the rapid population growth have caused the city of Surakarta to have problems in settlement development, particularly the slum settlements that are scattered in the Semanggi area. The city of Surakarta has residential locations that are classified as having a high population density, namely 551,887 people / km2 of the total area of Surakarta City which is only 44.7 km2. The purpose of this study is to identify the quality distribution of slum settlements and to analyze the factors that most influence the distribution of slum settlements in West Bekasi District. The method used in this research is a survey method using a quantitative GIS analysis approach, namely the scoring method using 8 parameters to identify the quality distribution of slum settlements. The parameters used are building density, road conditions, drainage conditions, building conditions, solid waste conditions, and other variables of consideration. The identification of the distribution of the quality of slum settlements is carried out by visual interpretation using the GeoEye-1 image and field survey which is then given a value for each parameter and carried out overlay to obtain a map of the distribution of slum settlements in the Semanggi area. The results of this study are a map of the quality distribution of slum areas which are divided into 4 classes, namely heavy slum (2.90%), moderate slum (38.11%), light slum (132.46%), and not slum (30, 81%). The sub-districts that have the most slum settlements, whether in the heavy slum class, moderate slum, and light slum are Sangkrah and Semanggi sub-districts. In addition, the results of the analysis of the factors that most influence the distribution of slum settlements include suitability factors for poor road and environmental conditions with narrow roads <1.5 meters, dense building density, conditions of buildings that are not permanent buildings, high population density, social potential. high economy, and low community carrying capacity.
