Abstract

The increasing number of population per year in Girimarto Subdistrict, Wonogiri Regency is the cause of the increasing amount of water demand. Meanwhile, the level of water availability tends not to increase, it can disrupt the status of the water carrying capacity for proper living. By analyzing the carrying capacity of water resources in Girimarto District, it can be used as a consideration for optimizing the available water availability to meet the water needs for a proper life in the region. The first step is to calculate the population to find out the amount of water that must be fulfilled. Then the second step calculates the amount of available water. By knowing the amount of water demand and the level of available water, it can be used as a comparison to determine the status of the water resources carrying capacity in Girimarto District. The population in this study were residents and meteorological water resources. This research uses secondary data and uses descriptive and spatial analysis methods. The results showed that the status of the carrying capacity of water resources in Girimarto District was in a surplus status. This is due to the comparison between the amount of water demand of 61,400,000 m3 /capita / year which is lower than the availability of water of 62,950,337.62 m3 /year.
