Abstract

This research aimed to describe the financial literacy in the society of Samin in Pati with the economic behavior study. This research uses an ethnography approach. The researcher used interview, observation, and documentation as the method of collecting the data. The data validity of this research is triangulation of source and source with confirmation. The technique of analyzing the data is four steps interactive model, there are: collecting the data, data reduction, presentation of the data, and conclusion. This research shows that 1) the society of Samin have already noticed the financial spending, 2) assume the money value in the periods of time is different, 3) less understanding about bank cards and the transactions, 4) they don’t understand about the check, 5) they are already understand about bank account, 6) they are already recognize the currency, 7) they know the credit agreement, 8) the importance of investment product, 9) they do not have financial planning and management yet, 10) the change of interest rates does not affect the loan fund, 11) they assume the tax does not exist. Recommendations from this study are expected to pay attention to the constraints that exist in society in the implementation of observations and interviews regarding financial literacy, especially in aspects of financial literacy as a material for consideration for improvement and perfection of research to be carried out.
