Abstract
The focus of this research is about the role of the Amil Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Muhammadiyah Institute (LAZISMU) "Secang Service Office" in improving the level of public health. This study aims to determine the role of LAZISMU Secang Service Office in improving the level of public health, as well as to find out what are the obstacles to the efforts of LAZISMU Secang Service Office in improving the level of public health. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, through data collection methods in the form of interviews. The result of this research is LAZISMU Secang Service Office has a role in improving the level of public health through the "COM-HEALTHY" program which consists of two programs, namely an ambulance service 2 program, and a health assistance program. The ambulance service car belonging to LAZISMU's Secang Service Office also meets the technical and medical requirements in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Indonesia Number 143 of 2001 concerning the Standardization of Medical Service Vehicles. What is an obstacle to the smooth running of these programs is the lack of awareness of the people of Secang District to set aside a portion of their fortune to help amil zakat institutions in implementing health programs which result in limited funds for implementing the program, and a lack of manpower at Lazsimu Secang Service Office. These obstacles result in the efforts of LAZISMU Secang Service Office being less than optimal in improving the standard of public health.
