Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The effect of financial literacy on the consumptive behavior of accounting education students class 2016 Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 2) The influence of lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of accounting education students class 2016 Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 3) The effect of financial literacy and lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of accounting students class 2016 Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This research is a type of associative quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of the 2016 Accounting Education Study Program, totaling 333 students. 172 students were taken as samples with proportional random sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the regression analysis obtained the regression line equation: Y = 13.457 + 0.389X1 + 0.350X2. The equation shows that consumptive behavior is influenced by financial literacy and lifestyle. The conclusions drawn are: 1) Financial literacy has an acceptable effect on consumptive behavior. 2) Lifestyle influencing consumer behavior is acceptable. 3) Financial literacy and lifestyle have an acceptable effect on consumptive behavior. 4) The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.354 or 35.4%, meaning that the variables of financial literacy and lifestyle on consumptive behavior have an effect of 35.4% while 64.6% are influenced by other variables.
