Abstract
This study aims to understand and describe the process of meaningful life for the puppeteers. The research method used is the phenomenological qualitative method where data collection is obtained by semi-structured interviews. The criteria for informants in this study were puppeteer puppets with the main job as puppeteers, active puppeteers in various activities, and have a family. How to determine the informants in this study using the snowball sampling technique. The results obtained from this research are that the puppeteer of the shadow puppets feels that their life is meaningful when they are able to contribute to others, either the audience or the shadow puppet fans themselves or the people around the puppeteer environment. Their efforts in the process of achieving meaning in life are carried out by means of unique and varied processes such as performing the Javanese fast according to the beliefs of each informant. The achievement of the meaning of life that the three informants obtained was happiness, yielding and could be useful for society.
