Abstract

This purpose of this study was to identify and describe the emotional management strategy of the event committee in Solo City. And to find out the factors that affect the emotional management ability of the event organizing committee in the Solo City. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. The informants who were used as subjects in this study were college students who had been the join to on the committee of events in Solo more than three times. Meanwhile, for the informant selection techniques in this study was selected by means of purpose sampling. Then, the technique used for data collection in the study was used interviews method, while the data analysis techniques in this study used data reduction techniques, data display, and verification / conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the emotional management ability of the event organizing committee is characterized by the ability of informants to analyze problems that occur, suppress ego and emotional characteristics, then adapt to other committee members and the environment and seek solutions to problems to maintain the continuity of the event. In addition, the factors that affect the emotional management of the event organizing committee are the work environment in the event and the interaction between each other.
