Abstract

Foreign exchange reserves are an indicator as a measure of the development or progress of a country, the problem of foreign exchange reserves is one of the problems that is difficult to control because in Indonesia it self imports are greater than exports and foreign debt can increase and reduce foreign exchange reserves. This makes foreign exchange reserves difficult to control. This study aims to analyze the development of Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves and the factors that influence it. The data in this study are time series data, obtained from various government agencies. The Error Correction Model (ECM) method is used to analyze the effect of exports, imports, and foreign debt on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves from 1990 to 2018. Based on the regression results, it is known that foreign debt and export value have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves while imports have an effect negative and significant towards Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves.
