Abstract

TYPES IN VIII CLASS STUDENTS SHORT STORIES AT SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 1 SURAKARTA”. Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 18 November, 2020. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of information students use in making short stories and analyze the form of information based on their linguistic hierarchy. Research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative research design. The data in this study are adverbs in the short story written by students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. The data analysis method used is the data analysis technique in this study using the method of sharing. The results of this study indicate that there are 8 types of information used by students of class VIII PK 1 of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta in making short stories. The types of adverbs include 3 statements of effect, 5 statements of reasons, 1 statement of origin, 3 statements of quantity, 1 statement of conditions, 1 statement of purpose, 12 statement of place, and 4 statement of aspect. So that the total number of adverb frequency found as many as 30 types of words.
