Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and procrastination working on a thesis on students taking thesis courses. The method used is quantitative. The subjects of this study were students of Muhammadiyah University Surakarta Surakarta 2011-2015 who were taking thesis courses for more than 1 semester totaling 60 students. The sampling technique used in this study is incidental. The data collection method uses a self-control scale, the scale of procrastination work on the thesis. Data analysis with product moment by Pearson. The results of this study are that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-control and procrastination work on the thesis (r = -0,350, p = 0,003). The effective contribution of the variable self-control to academic procrastination is 12.25%. This means that there are still 87.75% other factors that influence the procrastination of doing a thesis on students.
