Abstract

The population problem is faced by all countries, both developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. To reduce the rate of population growth, the government has implemented a "Keluarga Berencana Nasional" program. The use of birth control often includes menstrual irregularities experienced by women. As a result of this deviation, women can suffer from anemia to infertility. Dysmenorrhea is a disorder of menstrual blood flow or menstrual pain. The cause of dysmenorrhea in Depo Provera and Cyclofem contraceptive users has not been found with a definite cause so that there is no agreement among experts about the cause. In a study conducted at Public Health Center of Kalasan, Purwortani, Sleman, Yogyakarta, the sample consisted of 70 mothers who used injection contraceptives where 35 mothers used Cyclofem, and 35 mothers used Depo Provera. With p = 0.05, the results showed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of dysmenorrhea using Cyclofem and Depo Provera injection contraceptives at the Public Health Center of Kalasan, Purwortani, Sleman, Yogyakarta.
