Abstract
Parent of children with special need has pressure that can’t be advoided, they need to nurture, take care, accompany and assist children's activities,that’s make them experiencing parenting stress. Resilience and social support are two factor that affect parenting stress. Increasing resilience and social support can help to decrease parenting stress. This research aims to know relationship between resilience and social support in parenting stress on parent who has children with special needs. Population in this research are 59 parent of students in SLB Wahid Hasyim Bringin. The research method uses a quantitative approach. Collecting data using the parenting stress scale, resilience scale and social support scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis techniques using multiple regression. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: 1) there is a relationship between resilience and social support with parenting stress in parents who have children with special needs, 2) there is a very significant negative relationship between resilience and parenting stress, 3) there is a significant negative relationship between support social with parenting stress, 4) parenting stress category is rather high, resilience is moderate, and social support is high, 5). The effective contribution of resilience and social support to parenting stress is R2 = 35.5% with details of the contribution of resilience variables of 32.9% and social support variables of 2.6%, while 64.5% is influenced by other variables.
