Abstract
Ferrat (FeO42-) is the most effective oxidizer of various oxidizers often used. In this study using industrial liquid waste know where it has characteristic murky grayish yellow color that if left will turn black and smell rotten. In this study carried out liquid waste treatment to know by using Sodium Ferrat and UV rays with some comparisons (1:3, 1:5, 1:7) of pH 8 and pH 9. After testing with Sodium Ferrat was passed on UV rays for BOD levels at pH 8 ratio 1:3 i.e. 696.1 mg/L, 1:5 i.e. 431.8 mg/L, and 1:7 i.e. 353.7mg/L. At pH 9 comparison 1:3 i.e. 731.3 mg/L, 1:5 i.e. 489.5mg/L, and 1:7 i.e. 484.5 mg/L. COD levels at pH 8 ratio 1:3 i.e. 1418.7 mg/L, 1:5 i.e. 1074.8 mg/L, and 1:7 i.e. 693.8 mg/L. At pH 9 ratio 1:3 i.e. 1503,5mg/L, 1:5 i.e. 1402.9 mg/L, and 1:7 i.e. 1175 mg/L. From the test results were most effective in the reduction seen in pH 8 of Sodium Ferrat that was missed by UV rays.
