Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the 2013 curriculum character education in accounting learning at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta. Type of qualitative research. The research design used an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data was carried out by triangulation of sources and triangulation of methods. The results show that (1) the implementation of the 2013 curriculum character education through accounting learning at SMK Negeri 6 Surakarta has been packaged in such a way from the planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection processes with the 2013 curriculum which uses the scientific approach as well as methods and media that are adjusted to character values which will be developed in students during the learning process. (2) character values that are developed in students through the accounting learning process including: love for the country, honesty, social care, communicative, discipline, and love to read. Cultivating character in schools is also through habituation of praying in congregation at the mosque, praying before and after the learning process in class. (3) factors that support the implementation of character education in schools include adequate facilities and infrastructure, interactive teaching teachers, and school extracurriculars. The factor that hinders the character in each student with different life backgrounds and negative factors from outside the school environment.
