Abstract
Urinary tract infection (ISK) is one of the most common infectious diseases in children. The implementation of antibiotic therapy is irrational especially in patients aged 0-16 years can be at risk of early antibiotic resistance, not achieving drug effects, increased side effects and increased costs therefore pharmacists should pay attention to the use of the drug rationally. The purpose of this study is to know the rationality of antibiotic therapy of urinary tract infections in pediatric patients based on precise indications, exact patients, appropriate medications, and appropriate dosages. Research is a type of observational research that is retrospective with purposive sampling method. The inclusion criteria in this study were pediatric patients 0-16 years old, patients diagnosed with urinary tract infections who underwent hospitalization, receiving antibiotic therapy and complete medical record data. The data obtained in the analysis is based on guidelines for prophylactic antibiotic use and therapy from Dr. Moewardi Hospitals 2012019 and IDAI 2011. The data is presented in the form of tables and explanations then all the data obtained during the study are grouped and analyzed as well as calculated the percentage of precise indications, the exact patient, the exact drug and the exact dosage. In 37 patients found the use of a single antibiotic drug given to pediatric patients namely Ampicillin Sulbactam (48%), ampicillin (8.1%), ceftriaxone (13.5%), cefixime (10.8%), amoxicillin (5.4%), cefotaxime (2.7%), amikacin (2.7%), cotrimoxazole (2.7%) and antibiotic combination given namely ceftriaxone with gentamicin (2,7%). The results of this study in pediatric patients diagnosed with urinary tract infections in Dr. Moewardi Hospital Inpatient Installation in 2018 were exactly an indication of 37 patients (100%), exactly 37 patients (100%), and appropriate medicine 35 patients (94.5%), exactly the dose of 31 patients (83.7%). In patients with rational antibiotic use, 14 patients (37.8%).
