Abstract

The quality of education in Indonesia is currently still low. The low quality of education in Indonesia is partly due to uncompetitive human resources. One of the characteristics of successful teaching can be seen from the level of student learning activities. In this learning activity students are required to be able to actively participate in the learning process.In this learning, students do not only rely on the teacher as the main source. The teacher's role in this learning is to motivate and facilitate students. Al-Zarnuji is one of the scientists who has a phenomenal work, namely the Book of Ta'lim al-Muta'alim. This book of Ta'lim al-Muta'alim is very well known in Indonesia, so that almost all pesantren in Indonesia use this book as a reference in the learning process.The main problem in this study is the Al-Zarnuji learning method contained in the Book of Ta'lim al-Muta'alim, the implications of the Al-Zarnuji learning method in the Book of Ta'lim al-Muta'alim on student creativity. This research includes qualitative research and is entirely library research. That is, research which studies by tracing and examining literature and research that is focused on library materials. Library research research aims to collect data and various information with the help of various library literature, such as books, magazines, documents, records, and historical stories, encyclopedias, biographies, and others.All data collected is then arranged, sorted and grouped and categorized so that they can find suitable themes between the Al-Zarnuji learning method and its implications for the development of student creativity. Based on data analysis, the researcher concluded that the learning methods offered by Al-Zarnuji in the Ta'lim al-Muta'alim book contained five methods, namely: lecture method, memorization method, understanding method, discussion method and exploration method. Most of the learning methods offered by Al-Zarnuji are teacher-centered, such as the lecture method, the memorization method, and the understanding method. The implication of the Al-Zarnuji learning method on the development of student creativity is that the methods offered by Al-Zarnuji have not been able to increase student creativity as a whole, but the Al-Zarnuji learning method is ethical and very relevant to be applied to improve student morale.
