Abstract

The zoning policy is a government program and activity in accepting prospective new students. This policy is reaping the pros and cons of local people. The existence of this zoning also makes the imbalance between students in Public and Private schools. Admission of New Students (PPDB) in 2019 through three channels, (1) Zoning route with a quota of at least 90%; (2) Achievement path with a maximum quota of 5%; (3) Parent / guardian transfer lane with a maximum quota of 5%. However, this zoning provision is excluded for schools run by the community, or what we usually call private schools. The focus of this thesis is in one of the schools that are based in Klaten District, namely MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten. The problems of this research such as: (1) is there any influence of the zoning policy on the inflow of students in MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten? (2) what is the strategy of MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten in dealing with zoning ?. The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of zoning policies and explain the strategies possessed by the Klaten Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) in dealing with zoning. This research is a field research that takes the focus of research in MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten. The approach used in this study is a mix method. The author uses interview, documentation and observation methods in collecting data meanwhile inductive techniques used to data analysis sector. As for the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten is a progressive school. Because students who get better and increase compared to previous years. The existence of this zoning program also does not have a significant effect on the admission of new students to MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten. The strategy by the headmaster of the Klaten MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) and its staff is to create a 3T program (Tahsin, Tahfidz and Tafkhim). The purpose of 3T is nothing but students in MTs Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Klaten are proficient in reading the Qur'an, memorizing the Qur'an and practicing it in daily life. And still morally karimah, knowledgeable, independent and continue to excel.
