Abstract

When mentioning the word nusyuz, what is often reflected in people's minds is the attitude of women who are disobedient, and do not carry out their duties and responsibilities as a wife. Nusyuz is not only applied by the wives but also applied by the husbands. It has been explained in Surah An-Nisa 'verse 128 that nusyuz is not only done by the wife but also by the husband, because both are ordinary people who do not rule out the possibility of making mistakes. Nusyuz which is done by the husband can take the form of words or deeds. The husbands who did Nusyuz things may lead the acts of violence against wives. Many Muslim are using Surah An-Nisa 'verse 34 as being such a cowardice person by beating the women, otherwise the fact is the surah explains 3 things when the wife doing nusyuz. First to do is advising the woman with touching words, secondly is to stay away from her bed, and thirdly is to give her some strokes gently as a punishment without hurting, stay away from hitting her face, cause the intention is not to hurt his wife but to educate. The purpose of this research is to analyze more detail about the husband's nusyuz in Al Qur'an according to the interpretation of Al Qurthubi and Wahbah Zuhaili, then to compare the similarities and differences between the two interpretations. This research is applying library research method with a qualitative approach. There are two sources of data in compiling this research, (1) The primary data is Tafsir Al Jami 'lil Ahkam Al Qur'an and Tafsir Al-Munir. (2) The Secondary data are books and journals related to nusyuz and household. The research’s collection data is applying the documentation method and the data is analyzed with the comparison method . This research shows that, Al Qurthubi and Wahbah Zuhaili said that the husbands may be able to do nusyuz too, the possibility of doing the nusyuz could be due to several factors, among the causes is his getting old wife, her beauty and charming face has been faded and a barren wife who cannot give a child. So thats why the husband acts indifferently and turns away from his wife. The husband wants to practice polygamy or divorces his wife. Al Qurthubi and Wahbah Zuhaili explain the solution to these problems by making an agreements and peacefulness between the husband and wife with a good conversation if the wife does not want to be divorced.
