Abstract

Inappropriate complementary feeding (MP-ASI) will interfere with the baby's growth and development. Appropriate complementary feeding of breast milk is given at the age of less than 6 months. The inappropriate timing of complementary breastfeeding by mothers could be due to a lack of knowledge about complementary foods, and mothers do not get information from health workers, as well as environmental factors in caring for their children. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the relationship to maternal knowledge and complementary feeding. The method used in this study is the Literature Review. The results of the studies that have been carried out, namely all journals show that there is a relationship of knowledge with complementary feeding (complementary feeding) The ease of seeking information from various sources of social media and television makes mothers have high knowledge, thereby increasing positive behavior in giving complementary foods. Mothers who have good knowledge will provide complementary breastfeeding on time (> 6 months). Therefore, the role of health workers in posyandus activities is very important, so that respondents get information about complementary feeding (MP-ASI) from health education so that they can increase their knowledge. In addition, print media and electronic media can be used to increase knowledge. Print media that can be used are magazines, journals, newsletters, and leaflets. While electronic media that can be used are television, radio, internet, and seminars.
