Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of professional commitment, anticipatory socialization, ethical orientation, and moral intensity of accounting students on whistleblowing. This research is a type of quantitative research, the sample in this study were accounting study program students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, academic year 2016, amounting to 80 respondents. Sampling in this study uses convenience sampling and probability sampling techniques. The data processing method used is multiple linear regression anaysis. The result of this study indicate that ethical orientation has a significant effect on students ‘decision to do whistleblowing, whereas professional commitment, anticipatory socialization and moral intensity have no significant effect on students’ decision to do whistleblowing.
