Abstract
The research aims are : 1) Describe the influence of the family environment on the interest in continuing studies, 2) Describe the influence of learning motivation on the interest in continuing studies, 3) Describe the influence of the family environment and learning motivation on the interest in continuing to study at college in class XI SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta. This research method using quantitative survey design. The population and sample of this study were all students of class XI SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta as many as 32 students who were obtained by means of a saturated sample technique and the data were collected using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression, T test, F test, R2, Relative Contribution and Effective Contribution. The results of data analysis obtained the linear line equation Y = 3.359 + 0.467 X1 + 0.430 X2. This is evidenced by the results of Fcount of 20.785 and greater than Ftable 3.29 (Fcount> Ftable,). the family environment variable gave a relative contribution of 56.33% and an effective contribution of 33.18%. The learning motivation variable gave a relative contribution of 43.67% and an effective contribution of 25.71%. The calculation result for R2 is 0.589 which means that 58.9% interest in continuing the study is influenced by the family environment and learning motivation.
