Abstract
The purpose of this research is to characterize rambutan charcoal particles from the collision of the High Energy Ball Milling (HEBM) Machine and further heating In this study a study of rambutan nano charcoal particles was produced with a top-down approach using the collision method with the shaker mills method. Characteristics of particles with the PSA test, SEM test and EDX test to analyze carbon particle size, surface morphology and chemical composition contained in the results of the maerial collision. The results of the PSA test, in 2.5 million collision cycles obtained the smallest carbon particle size is 0.156 µm, the volume is 0.001% the average size is 5.209 µm, the volume is 7.669%, the largest size is 149.472%, the volume is 0.001%. cycles of 2.5 million cycles produce varying sizes of chunks of carbon particles. The EDX test results in elements that produce carbon particle size, C 96.15%, Magnesium Oxide, 0.15% MgO, Phosphorus Pentaoxide, P205 0.31%, while the percentage of other content is very small at <1%.
