Abstract

This research used to 1) Describe material on mathematics which is considered difficult for students to have difficulty learning mathematics in grade V at SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen 2) Analyzing the factors causing the difficulty in learning mathematics experienced by fifth grade students at SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen 3) Describe the guidance and counseling services provided by teachers to deal with mathematics learning difficulties experienced by fifth grade students at SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen. The method of this research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. This research located in SD Negeri Juwok 2, Kedungpring, Juwok, Sukodono, Sragen. The subject of this research are : the headmaster of SD Negeri Juwok 2, the V grade teacher of SD Negeri Juwok 2 and 4 students in V grade of SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen. The steps of analyzing the data are : examine the data, reduction the data, presentation of the data and the last is make the conclusion. Based on the data analysis and finding, the result of this research shows that the implementation service of guidance and counseling in SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen, the student’s should be given task and the teacher must cooperate with the students parents in mentoring and supervision about the school and the teachers should use direct approach technique to their students. The factors which make the students feel difficulties when studying are : lack of basic abilities possessed by the students, lack of special aptitudes for specific learning situations, lack of motivation, emotional situation facedby learners within a certain time. The implementation of counseling guidance servise carried out by SD Negeri Juwok 2 Sragen in coverming mathematics learning difficulties is very varied, starting from the use of methods (practice quations, habituation, direct approach with students) and efforts (preventive), givving advice, healing) which vary in terms of any problem solving student learning that occurs.
