Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) To describe the characteristics of self-confident and communicative characters in the youths in the village of Sukorejo, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency so far; 2) Describe the characteristics of the strengthening of self-confident and communicative characters in the youth in Sukorejo village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency; 3) Describe the characteristics of the obstacles that arise in strengthening the self-confident and communicative character of young people in Sukorejo Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were village officials, young people, and community leaders. The object of this research is the strengthening of self-confident and communicative character among young people in Sukorejo Village. Data collection used in this research is by interviewing, observing, and documenting techniques. The validity of the data was done by means of triangulation of data sources and triangulation of techniques. Data analysis was performed by applying an interactive analysis model. The results of this study can be concluded that (1) the characteristics of self-confident and communicative characters in young people consist of being confident in having a sense of courage in taking attitudes, not being afraid of being wrong and having high self-confidence, while the communicative characteristics are someone who is responsive in responding. and easy to understand in communicating. (2) a form of strengthening of self-confidence and communicative character, namely through various activities of young people by strengthening it in the form of motivation, praise, appreciation or a smile to young people, with this form becoming more active, brave and kind young women. (3) Obstacles that arise in strengthening this confident and communicative character are mental which makes young people still need to be improved in self-confidence and communicative
