Abstract
Non-sand concrete paving blocks are a type of sandless concrete made from a mixture of cement, coarse aggregate and water. The coarse aggregate used in its manufacture is in the form of crushed stone measuring 5-10 mm. The proportion for non-sand concrete paving block mixture is 1 PC: 5 BP, with a cement water factor of 0.35. The making of non-sand concrete paving blocks is intended for the application of parking lots with quality quality concrete B. The presence of pores formed on non-sand concrete paving blocks results in a lower compressive strength value compared to conventional paving blocks. Non-sand concrete paving blocks are made into 3 different variations, namely the thickness is 6 cm, 8 cm, 10 cm and each length is 20 cm, width is 10 cm. The difference in thickness in paving blocks aims to obtain test results that are closest to the standard quality of conventional paving blocks. The use of non-sand concrete as a building material in concrete construction needs to be developed because it is to determine the concrete strength test that meets the concrete quality criteria. Testing of the test object was carried out after 28 days of age which was previously treated by covering it with a wet gunny sack. The results of the non-sand paving block compressive strength test for each variation obtained the average compressive strength of 7.97 MPa, 10.12 MPa, and 13.37 MPa. The shock resistance test of non-sand paving block with each variation obtained the average shock resistance of 69 joules, 190 joules, and 393 joules. The wear resistance test or friction test obtained an average wear resistance of 0.0582 mm / minute. From the tests conducted, it was concluded that non-sand paving blocks with coarse aggregate of crushed stones measuring 5-10 mm for parking lots with variations in thickness of 6 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm did not meet the requirements set by SNI 03–0691-1996 because the compressive strength value < 17 MPa. Non-sand paving blocks with a thickness of 8 cm still meet the quality requirements of D so that they can be used for garden pavements. Non-sand paving blocks with a thickness of 10 cm meet the C quality requirements so that they can be used for pavement for pedestrians.
