Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in fulfilling the needs of wheat flour, which reaches 600 - 800 tons per day for the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region. With the high demand for wheat every day and quite a lot of work for the foreman, including taking / reporting the result sheet of recording, recording loading / unloading wheat, monitoring and ensuring the wheat is according to standards and determining the location of loading / unloading wheat storage which can cause foreman errors in the form of recording errors , passing non-standard goods, negligent in determining the position of the grain. Therefore, the foreman's job requires very high concentration. The physical work of the foreman can indirectly affect the mental condition of the foreman, physical and mental conditions that are already feeling tired affect the foreman's concentration which can cause human error in his job. This study aims to measure the physical and mental workload, identify human errors in the foreman and provide suggestions for improvements. The study used 3 methods, beginning with giving the NASA-TLX questionnaire to the foreman, then measuring the pulse using the CVL method and the potential for human error which was described by the SHERPA tabulation. Based on the results of research that has been done to the foreman, the average score of NASA-TLX is 70.22 which indicates the mental workload received by workers is included in the high workload category, for pulse measurement using the CVL method the average value is 20.44. % which indicates the work does not cause fatigue in workers. Based on the results of the research, the proposed improvements were given in the form of providing assisticve devices, giving music during recess hours, providing work rotation.
