Abstract

The highway is a road transport infrastructures whose existence is very important for the process of human movement. Road pavement in Indonesia generally suffered damage before reaching age In the rainy season, not a few streets in Indonesia are submerged in water due to flooding. This can affect the performance of asphalt pavement especially the problem of decreasing durability characteristic. It also has an adverse impact on the process of making hot mix, during transportation, on-site delivery, and service periods of aging on the asphalt mixture. This study aims to analyze the durability of the HRS-WC mixture due to the effects of aging and the duration of immersion. The research was conducted in Laboraturium using aggregate originating from Bawen, Semarang regency. This research used experimental method with variation of 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%, 8%, and 8.5% total asphalt to aggregate weight to determine optimum bitumen content. To make the mixture of HRS-WC this semi-long gradient refers to the specification of Bina Marga 2010. For testing on short-term oven aging (STOA), during transport and field deployment and Long Term Oven Aging (LTOA). The parameters used to see the durability level of the HRS-WC mix are the Time Strength Index and the Durability index. Based on the results of the study, the influence of the aging and long soaking effect quite significantly to mix durability HRS-WC. A test object that is experiencing the aging produce value the power of rest below the minimum required Bina Marga, (2010), namely 90%. The longer the aging process occurs and the longer the mixture sealed submerged water, then further lower level durability of mixed HRS-WC, good views of the value of the Residual strength index (IKS) and Durability index value index value of residual Forces after soaking for 24 hours, at a temperature of 60 ° C) normal test object amounted to 96.33% of the test objects, STOA of 91.49%, and test LTOA of 88.98%. While the index of the object that is experiencing the test of Durability of aging showed a decrease in strength as we get big enough time soaking compared with normal test objects, so the test object that is experiencing the aging is not considered sufficiently resistant against damage caused by the influence of water and temperature.
