Abstract

Ngargoyoso District has a number of potential tourist objects. There are several objects that have been managed and have not been managed, so it is necessary to make an assessment of their potential. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze the potential of tourism objects in Ngargoyoso District in 2019, (2) to develop strategies for developing tourism objects in Ngargoyoso sub-district and (3) to identify the dominant factors that affect the potential of tourism objects in Ngargoyoso District. The method used in this research is survey / observation method. The data analysis technique uses descriptive qualitative which is what it is, without giving treatment or manipulating the variables studied. The results of this study are (1) all tourist objects in Ngargoyoso District have a combined potential in various variables or indicators with the benchmark of Law 10 of 2009 on tourism. The tourist objects include: Cetho Temple, Sukuh Temple. Madirda Lake, Jumog Waterfall, Parang Ijo Waterfall, Semilir Valley, Ndoro Dongker, Kemuning Tea Plantation, Rubber Plantation Agro-tourism, Red Guava Tourism Garden, and Madirda Lake. Meanwhile, the internal potential, external potential, and potential supporting tourism objects in Ngargoyoso District low potential, (2) there are 5 dominant factors or variables that affect the potential of tourist objects in Ngargoyoso vary, namely high potential, medium potential, and District, Karanganyar Regency. , namely (a) directly variable physical condition of the tourist object, (b) travel time to the capital, (c) road infrastructure to the object, (d) availability of facilities for meeting physical or basic needs at the location of the object, and (e) availability of complementary facilities , and (3) the strategy for developing tourism objects in Ngargoyoso District is directed as follows: (a) improving the quality of objects, by utilizing the potential of existing natural resources while still paying attention to environmental aspects of sustainability, (b) increasing tourism promotion efforts in Ngargoyoso District by establishing cooperation with the private sector and related agencies, so that the existing tourism marketing will be more integrated and directed, (c) increasing the intensity of attractive tourist events so that tourists are more interested in visiting, and (d) establishing zoning for tourism purposes in order to intensify development in the tourism sector which will ultimately increase the number of tourist visits.
