Abstract
Al-Qur'an Education School (TPQ) is one of the non-formal religious education institutions whose activities provide understanding and inculcation of basic knowledge of Islamic religion to young children with the material to Read the Qur'an (BTQ), Aqidah, Fiqh Thaharah & Prayers , prayers, and stories about exemplary stories. The success of the learning process at TPQ is influenced by several factors, one of these factors is the professionalism of a teacher in teaching. The facts in the field, especially in the sub-district of Kartasura, there are still TPQ where the teacher only applies literacy, and has not applied the appropriate learning methods. The Al-Qur'an Education School Coordination Board (Badko TPQ) in Kartasura sub-district is the body that coordinates all TPQ activities in the Kartasura sub-district, such as uniforming learning curricula, fostering good TPQ management, and training education for TPQ Teachers. Badko TPQ Kartasura has an important role in improving the quality of education in TPQ institutions in accordance with its vision and mission, one indicator is to form professional teachers. So, to realize this there needs to be an effort to increase TPQ Teacher professionalism through coaching, education and training. This research was conducted to find out what are the efforts made by TPQ Kartasura Badko in increasing the professionalism of TPQ Teachers and what are the supporting factors and obstacles to the implementation of TPQ Teacher professionalism efforts. This research is a qualitative research by taking the place of research in Badko TPQ Kartasura sub-district. In this study, the authors collected data using data collection methods such as interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is done deductively, which departs from the theory built as a foundation for thinking which is then followed by a description of the data from the results of the study and ends with drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study, the authors draw the conclusion that the efforts made by the TPQ Kartasura Badko in improving the professionalism of the TPQ Teachers are of two types of coaching, namely intensive coaching and incidental coaching. First, the intensive training carried out was to educate and train TPQ Teachers in PG-TPQ institutions for 6 months. Second, coaching what is done is to hold a TPQ World Gathering event. Third, coaching is done by organizing the cheerful Outbount agenda of TPQ Teachers.
