Abstract

Rivers are at Merapi volcano is estimated to still have material eruption with a large enough amount with the volume of erupted material, one of which is Kali Putih. Given the magnitude of the impact caused by the danger of lahars floods that hit the area around Kali Putih, it is necessary to study the impact of lava floods with the area boundaries being the Putih Sub Watershed (DAS). The purpose of this research is to model the lava flood hazard, and analyze the impact of lava flood hazard on infrastructure in the study area including settlements, road and bridge networks, and sabodam buildings. The lava flood hazard modeling process with the Laharz_Py tool is carried out using DEM LiDAR data and the initial release volume of lava material is 3.4 million m3 to be further explained based on the height of the lava flood flow. Infrastructure data is obtained by digitizing the orthophoto aerial photo data of the Merapi Volcano area and the SaboDam building report data using ArcGIS software. Modeling the impact of lava flood consists of overlapping process between lava flood hazard parameters and infrastructure availability data to be further classified into high (very damaged), moderate (moderate), and low (lightly damaged) classes. The results for the lava flood hazard consist of low 0 – 1,5 meters (1056 Ha), moderate 1,51 – 3 meters (358 Ha), and high > 3 meters (248 Ha) classes and have been validated with field measurement data for lava flood flow events. The results of the lahar flood modeling impact on residential infrastructure consisted of low / lightly damaged (269.08 ha) in Bringin, Seloboro, Blongkeng, and Plosogede, moderate / moderately damaged (174.95 ha) in Srumbung, Jumoyo, Gulon and Sirahan, and high / very damaged (40.82 Ha) in Mranggen. Transportation infrastructure consists of low class / lightly damaged (53.6 km) in Srumbung, Ngluwar, and shaman villages, moderate / moderately damaged (19.6 km) in Srumbung, Ngluwar, and Dukun, and high / very damaged ( 10.75 km) in Srumbung and Mranggen. The infrastructure of the sabodam building consists of low class / lightly damaged (1 sabodam) in Seloboro, medium / moderate damage (5 sabodams) in Jumoyo and Plosogede, and high / very damaged (18 sabodams) in Ngargosoka, Mranggen, and Srumbung.
