Abstract

Kampung is an area, where there are several houses or families that reside there or the area where the middle and lower class residents live in urban areas. Kampung batik can be interpreted as a village that can produce or produce a batik. Bakdalem Village is a village in Sukosari Village, Jumantono District, Karanganyar Regency, the majority of which are canting batik artisans. Several decades ago the community had passed by as batik artisans, but the community was only able to become a batik without being able to produce their own. They still do not have the capital and ability to process it. In the batik system in the batik village, the people make batik and then process it by the skipper (the people call it) and then the villagers sell it. Besides this potential, some people become convection tailors and soybean tempe makers. The method used in this research is data collection by coming directly to the location of the village and study literature to get other data. With this the author plans to develop the village into a tourist village of batik canting which later is expected to become a creative, educative and creative tourist village.
