Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) the influence of parental education with an interest in continuing higher education in class XI students of SMAN 1 Karanggede. 2) the effect of motivation to learn with an interest in continuing higher education in class XI students of SMAN 1 Karanggede. 3) the influence of parental education and motivation to learn with an interest in continuing higher education in class XI students of SMAN 1 Karanggede. This research is quantitative and ex post facto design. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS SMAN 1 Karanggede in the academic year 2019/2020 as many as 160 students. The sample in this study were 114 students with incidental sampling technique. Data collection techniques using documentation and questionnaires (questionnaire). The data analysis technique used is a two-way analysis of variance. The conclusions in this study are: 1) There is no influence of parental education on the interest in continuing college studies. This is proven by the significance value of 0.616 > 0.05. 2) There is an influence of learning motivation on interest in continuing college studies. This was proven by a significant value of 0,000 < 0.05. 3) There is an effect of variations in parental education interactions and learning motivation on interest in continuing college studies. This is proven by the significant value of 0.008 < 0.05.
