Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand and describe academic hardiness in students who are entrepreneurs in the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study uses phenomenological qualitative research methods. Data collection methods in this study using interviews. The informants of this study were 5 students who were entrepreneurs with criteria still active / ungraduate students maximum 8th semester, starting their business when they were students. The business carried out can survive and develop at least one year and have income every month, the value of Ipk> 3.00. The informant is obtained through purposive sampling technique. The results of this study indicate forms of Academic hardiness, namely commitment, challenge, and control. Factors that influence academic hardiness are the presence of targets, responsibilities to parents, support for friends and family support. Impacts resulting from academic hardiness include good academic results / satisfaction and lectures and businesses can run and develop, which affects the absence of problems with lecturers and customer.
