Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze corporate social responsibility (CSR) on financial performance. Financial performance is proxied by return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), price to book value (PBV), stock returns, and cumulative abnormal returns (CAR).Quantitative associative methods in this study are used to determine the relationship between two variables, namely corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance in manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical sector which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The sampling method used was purposive sampling, so as many as 62 companies were obtained that met the research criteria.The results of data analysis in this study indicate that the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model influences financial performance as measured by ROA, ROE, PBV, stock returns, and CAR is fit. Partially shows that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has a significant negative effect on Financial Performance as measured by ROA, ROE, Stock Returns, and CAR while a significant positive effect on Financial Performance as measured by PBV.
