Abstract

The structure of fable discourse includes title, orientation, complications, resolution, and code. This study aims to describe the structure of a complete and incomplete fable discourse from 2 different schools, namely students of SMP 5 Muhammadiyah Surakarta and SMP Muhammadiyah Pangkalan Bun. This research method uses structural analysis. This type of research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are document analysis techniques. The validity of the data used in this study is the triangulation of data sources. The results of this study are that there are some complete and incomplete fable structures. There are 20 fables written by students analyzed, namely 3 fables written by students of SMP 5 Muhammadiyah Surakarta and 2 fables from Muhammadiyah Pangkalanbun SMP which have a complete structure. The incomplete structure contained 15 fable titles, 7 fables written by students of SMP 5 Muhammadiyah Surakarta and 8 fables from students of Muhammadiyah Pangkalanbun Middle School.
