Abstract

Background: Based on a WHO survey in 2011, osteoarthritis sufferers in the world reached 151 million and 24 million people in the Southeast Asian region. A report from the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018 revealed that the prevalence of joint disease in Indonesia reached 7.3%. The prevalence of knee osteoarthritis in Surakarta, Central Java reaches 68.5%, and most have no history of injury. The purpose of this sturdy: The purpose of this study was to determine whether the determinants of self care in osteoarthritis patients with the health belief model theory in Moewardi District Hospital. The Health Belief Model Theory is a theory that explains a person's knowledge of health behavior, namely self care. Research methods: This study uses a correlative design and the approach used in this study is a cross-sectional approach. Data collection instruments using questionnaires. Held in January at RSUD Moewardi with the number of samples caused 23 respondents. Results: In this study the results obtained in the Spearman rho correlation test with the results of the correlation 721. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is the relationship between the theory of health belief models with self care in osteoarthritis patients.
