Abstract
This study has two objectives, namely: (1) Describe the form of speech response directive actions on the @ Tirto.id account on Twitter in March. (2) Describe the response speech act strategy on the @ Tirto.id account on twitter. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. The method used in this study uses the equivalent method. Data collection techniques using listening techniques and note taking techniques. The basic technique used is the technique of determining the determinant element (PUP) with the power of sorting as a distinguishing referent. The advanced technique used is using HBS. The validity of the data in this study uses the theory triangulation technique. The data used in this research are 107 speeches which are sorted into 65 speech directive speech acts on the @ Tirto.id account on Twitter. Source of data comes from speech in the form of written language on account @ Tirto.id on twitter in March 2020 (1) Based on an analysis of directive speech acts, 65 data were found which included directive speech acts, namely (a) 19 directive speech acts, (b) ) 2 directive speech acts expect, (c) 9 speech acts ask, (d) 9 speech acts prohibit, (e) 9 forms of speech acts demanded, (f) 11 speech acts suggest, (g) 2 speech acts invite, and ( h) 4 reminder speech acts. However, the dominant form of speech acts is ordered speech acts. The directive speech act strategy is classified into two namely direct and indirect strategies. (2) analysis of direct speech act strategies, amounting to 61 utterances, while indirect strategies found 4 utterances in this study. Keywords : speech acts directive, twitter, response
