Abstract
Teachers are people who educate students as educated and noble human beings. The role of teachers of Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Arabic (ISMUBA) to improve the ability to read and write the Qur'an is very important because it is to print generations of the Qur'an. This study aims to describe the role of Islamic, Kemuhammadiyahan and Arabic (ISMUBA) teachers in improving the literacy skills of students in the Muhammadiyah Middle School Darul Arqom Karanganyar and identifying strategies used to improve their literacy skills. conducted at the Muhammadiyah Middle School Darul Arqom Karanganyar This type of research includes field research. Data collection methods used were interviews, observation, and documentation. The analytical method used is data collection, data integration, data processing, and conclusions. The results showed that first, the role of ISMUBA teachers at Muhammadiyah Middle School Darul Arqom Karanganyar in improving the reading and writing skills of the class IX students manifested in the teaching and learning process in class. The supervising teacher is able to convey al-Qur'an written material well for students and is also able to provide motivation to students in terms of learning Islam, Kemuhammadiyahan, and Arabic (ISMUBA). Second, ISMUBA teacher's strategy in improving the literacy skills of students in grade IX, as follows: a) Providing motivation, b) Using varied methods, c) Deepening of the material, d) Deepening of evaluation, e) Providing reward and punishment, f) Looking for reference material as much as possible.
