Abstract

Fulfillment of clove demand is very significant considering the clove is a staple in the cigarette industry seen from the increase in clove imports by 6,560 tons from 2015-2016, but the domestic market cannot meet the demand. In order to get maximum production results, clove plants have growth and development requirements, which include height, temperature, and climate, so that clove plants cannot be planted anywhere. the eastern slopes of Mount Merapi and Merbabu include the Selo, Ampel, Cepogo, Musuk, Boyolali, and Mojosong Subdistrict areas, which are the most heavily planted clove trees in Boyolali sub-district. This study aims to analyze the distribution of clove plants to climate on the eastern slopes of Mount Merapi and Merbabu in the Boyolali Regency. The method used in this study is a secondary data analysis method with data analysis using a polynomial (non-linear) regression test in each district by comparing dependent variables (temperature & rainfall) and independent variables (productivity). In general, the largest production of clove plants is in Mojosongo and Boyolali Districts. Meanwhile, the Selo Subdistrict did not produce any clove production at all. This condition can be hypothesized that the clove's life force is at temperatures that are not too cold, lower altitude, and lower rainfall. Meanwhile, three sub-districts (Ampel, Cepogo, and Boyolali) have a rather significant temperature effect on the growth of clove plants. Mojosongo and Musuk Subdistricts have a not too significant relationship to temperature, so that temperature does not significantly affect the growth of clove plants in the region. Rainfall affects the growth of clove plants in Cepogo, Musuk, and Boyolali Districts.
