Abstract
The object of the research is the movie entitled Panic Room. The major problem of this study is how the struggle for life of Meg Altman is reflected in David Fincher’s Panic Room movie based on Individual Psychological approach. Therefore, the study analyzes the movie in term of its structural elements of the movie and based on the individual psychological approach. These studies belong to qualitative study. This method, the writer uses two data sources: they are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The primary data sources and the object of the study is the movie itself, meanwhile the secondary data sources are the other sources which relates to the primary data sources such as journal, and website about the movie. The method of the data collection is library research by collecting both primary and secondary data. The technique of data analysis is descriptive analysis based on Individual Psychological approach. The result of the analysis shows the following conclusions: first, David Fincher wants to utter his idea that struggle for life is to the better future. Second, struggle for life can be achieved by working hard and sacrificing. Third, struggle for life achieved by working hard and sacrificing will influence the psychological development of the major character in this movie. In this movie Meg Altman as the major character has the struggle for life that reinforces her psychological development.
