Abstract

Ibu Lestari's SME is the one of the home ice cream industry in Malangjiwan village, Colomadu. The process of producing ice cream includes the process of brewing, salting and rotating the ice tube. The playback process uses manual or conventional methods. The manual method is to turn it with both hands. For manual playback requires a relatively longer time during the playback process which is ± 170 minutes which makes the ice tube rotator feel fatigue resulting in musculoskeletal injury. With this the researcher makes a design of a machine that has been modified using the benchmarking method. Hold benchmarking first of all, which is to search for similar machines, then compare work functions to find out the strengths and weaknesses of each machine to be benchmarked. the researchers subsequently showed the results of a modified ice machine that has a safety ergonomic design for the operator, a high productivity function in one manufacturing process can produce 2 tubes of ice cream. And obtained more time in making 2 tubes of ice puter that is 120 minutes.
