Abstract

Depression is still a mental disorder with a significant number of suffereres in the world. Depression is one of the effects of diabetes millitus. Diabetes millitus in ranked fifth as a chronic disease that causes death in the world. For sufferers of chronic pain they really need family support, because the family is the main source of support. This study aims to dtermine the relationship of family support for depression in patients with type 2 diabetes millitus at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. Population in this study were all patients with type 2 diabetes millitus according to the inclusion criteria, amounting to 51 respondents and obtained by purposive sampling technique. This study used a quantitative approach. Data collection tools used in this study are BDI scale to measure depression levels and family support scale. Data analysis was performed by product-moment correlation test. Based on the analysis result which show there is no relationship between family support for depression in patients with diabetes millitus type 2 in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta.
