Abstract

The problem of this study is how Islamophobia is reflected in the 9/11 commission report and how dominant ideology influences of the 9/11 commission report. The objective of this study is to analyze of the 9/11’s commission report based on the critical discourse analysis and to reveal the dominant ideology underlying the report. This study is qualitative study. The data sources are used in this method, namely primary and secondary data sources. The primary data sources are the text report itself. The secondary data sources are the books about the 9/11 commission report, references from internet related about the 9/11 commission report and other sources, which are related to the analysis. The method of data collection is library research and the technique of data collection is descriptive technique. Based on the analysis, it draws some conclusion as follow: Firstly, the report represents a media socio-political account of power and dominance or patterns of access power relations. It also serves as social representations in the minds of social actors to communicate events in the reproduction of dominance and inequality. Secondly, the report has the primarily aims at contributing the paradigm and ideology. Thirdly, the report is used to get public support in order to discredit and marginalize others. Fourthly, the report represents support character assassination reflecting of Islamophobia.
