Abstract

This study aims 1) To find out how the readiness of SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar and SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta in producing graduates who are ready to face the MEA. 2) To find out the efforts made by SMK N 1 Karanganyar and SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta in dealing with the ASEAN economic community. This type of research is a qualitative research with an phenomenological design. The resource persons of this study are the principal, deputy head of curriculum, head of accounting department and two accounting teachers. The results of this study that SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar and SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta expressed readiness to face the ASEAN Economic Community. Evidenced by efforts that have been made preparations starting in terms of student skills, implementing the 2013 curriculum, always updating teacher knowledge with the MGMP from the government and also bringing in guest teachers from institutions or from universities, and completing school infrastructure. In addition, for the two vocational schools, cooperating with DI / DU (industrial / business world) to align the curriculum with market needs and place PKL(field work practices) on student Keywords: Strategic Efforts, Vocational High School Accounting, ASEAN Economic Community
