Abstract

This study aims to (1) Arrange teaching materials as the development of instructional materials for the pedosphere, (2) Determine the effectiveness of the development of instructional materials for podesfer in the learning process at Imam Syuhodo Muhammadiyah High School. This type of research is a research and development (R&D) that adopts the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) which has been modified in Hasyim (2016: 70-71). The design of this study was using Pretest Posttest Control Group Design with class X IPS 2 and IPS 3 respondents in Imam Syuhodo Muhammadiyah High School. The data analysis technique used is the T test (t-test) and N Gain Score. The results showed that 1) the criteria for developing teaching materials desired by students consisted of 4 aspects, namely material aspects, language aspects, graphic aspects and presentation aspects. 2) T-test results in the pretest and posttest of the control class and the experimental class showed significant results (2-tailed), namely: 0,000 which means less than 0.05 so that HO is rejected and H1 is accepted. The effectiveness of teaching materials in the form of books in the pedosphere material in the control and experimental classes has increased, but a more significant increase occurred in the experimental class. The average value in the experimental class pretest 5.2 and posttest 8.2 increased 3.0% in the control class the average value of pretest 5.0 and posttest 6.9 increased by 1.9%. Comparison of the level of learning outcomes using the N Gain Score in the experimental class, namely: 59.74 included in the category of "EFFECTIVE ENOUGH" while in the control class 37.67 included in the category of "LESS EFFECTIVE".
