Abstract

Every region has a different capacity in its development. This is due to the differences of the resources potential. One of the potential regional resources is related to natural resources. The difference of the resources in UMS Campus Area does not have any springs, while Karanganyar District does. The population in this study are the entrepreneurs of refill drinking water in UMS Campus Area. This study aims to: (1) determine the distribution of refill drinking water traders in UMS Campus Area, (2) know the characteristics of the refill drinking water business in UMS Campus Area, (3) know the regional interactions in refill drinking water trade in UMS Campus Area. The method used are questionnaire and interview methods. The results in this study are (1) the distribution of refill drinking water traders centered around Campus 1 and Campus 2 and also closed area nearby the boarding houses or scattered in economic activity, (2) the characteristics of refill drinking water entrepreneurs in UMS Campus Area is highly educated from Senior High School and bachelor graduates, (3) interaction between regions is indicated by the flow of product (water) from Kemuning, Cokro, and Tlatar to UMS Campus Area as much as 950,000 liters / month and the flow of funds (money) from UMS Campus Area to Kemuning, Cokro and Tlatar as many as IDR 36,060,000 / month.
