Abstract

The use of drugs during pregnancy requires special attention, because most of the drugs can cross the placenta. Therefore, administration of drugs to pregnant women should be with appropiate consideration. The purpose of this study to evaluate the use of drugs safety in pregnant women in outpatient hospital PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta. In this study conducted at the Hospital of PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta because that was formerly known PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital is a maternity hospitals so that the number of patients is quite. Population in this study were pregnant womens in outpatient PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in March 2009. This research is a non-experimental research using descriptive analysis and data collection performed retrospectively from patient medical record data while retrieval is done Simple Random Sampling. Prescription medication data were analyzed based on Pregnancy Category FDA.Hasil research in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta March 2009 from 100 patients in the highest diagnosis is pregnancy control. While the use of drugs Category A 64.52%, while category B drug for 23.97%, with a category C drug by 6.20%, with a category D drug for 1.65%, while the category X drugs were found.
