Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of financial rewards, profesional recognition, labor market considerations, and the intrinsic value of work on the interest of accounting students to pursue a career as a public accountant. This study is a type of survey research that uses primary data from questionnariers. The population in this study were all students of the Accounting Students in UMS and UNS academic year 2016 which amounted to 506 people. The data used were 75 students. The sampling technique is random sampling. Prerequisite test analysis contains validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, and multiple linier regression were used to analyse the data. The result showed that the labor market considerations significant influence on the interest of accounting students to pursue a career as a public accountant,while financial rewards, profesional recognition, and the intrinsic value of work no significant influence on the interest of accounting students to pursue a career as a public accountant.
