Abstract

The Purpose of study is to analyze the effect of regional size, the level of regional wealth, the level of regional dependence, capital expenditure, and leverage on the performance of regional governments and cities in Sumatra Island in the 2018 fiscal year. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling method. The number of samples in this study were 143 regencies and cities in Sumatra Island in fiscal year 2018. Data analysis used multiple linear regression to test and prove the research hypothesis. The results of this study indicate the level of regional wealth affects the performance of district / city local governments throughout Sumatra, while the size of the region, the level of regional dependence, capital expenditure, and leverage do not affect the performance of district / city governments throughout Sumatra Island in the 2018 fiscal year.
